Take a short break in Devon away from the crowds! Outside the peak season you can often arrive anytime Friday and leave at your leisure on Sunday (but please check with us!). Our self catering cottage and lodges are fabulously cosy and in the heart of glorious Devon countryside. Dogs are welcome. And you can often make a last minute booking when the weather looks good. Come and enjoy Devon's glorious autumns and early springs. If you've nothing planned, escape for a couple of days! Take off for a weekend of misty early mornings followed by crisp sunshine and clear skies. Stride out on Dartmoor, swish through autumn leaves in Devon's wooded combes, or marvel at the unfurling spring.
Not so keen on the self in self catering? The Kings Arms pub in Winkleigh is welcoming and does good food, as do several other local pubs. Or order a pie or quiche from Fiona's Farm Shop just up the lane. Hommity pie - mmmm yum!
Spot of quiet fishing take your fancy? We're close to excellent fly fishing on Devon's River Taw - day tickets often available through the Fox and Hounds country hotel in Eggesford. And just 6 miles away from the cottage and lodges you'll find Stafford Moor Fishery - one of the best know coarse fisheries in Devon.
See in early spring in Devon! Highlights this month are barn owls, often hunting in front of the lodges at dusk, and the first signs of spring (there's already a daffodil out). If these breaks don't suit, give us a ring on 01837 83499 to see if we can help. Outside the main summer holiday season we do short breaks from a minimum of 2 nights. Last minute bookings (4 days or less in advance) use code lastmin for an extra 5% off when booking direct online.
